Detailed information

Due to the influence of the high wind convergence area, from the night of July 20 to 14:00 on July 21, 2020, the northern mountainous provinces have moderate rain, some places with heavy rain, popular from 30-60mm, particularly Ha Giang has very heavy rain with great intensity, the total rainfall from 0h-14h / 21/7 is as follows: Ha Giang city: 378mm, Dao Duc (Vi Xuyen) 395mm, Cao Bo (Vi Xuyen) 401mm, Thuan Hoa (Vi Piercing) 290mm. Heavy rain caused landslides, floods on rivers and streams causing the following damage:

- People: 05 people died (03 people due to landslide, 02 people were swept away by flood), 02 people were injured.

- House: 02 houses collapsed, swept away; 57 houses were damaged; 524 houses were flooded.

- Regarding agriculture: 215 ha of rice, crops and 24 ha of fox pond were damaged.

 - Regarding hydroelectricity: 02 hydropower plants (Thai An, Quan Ba ​​and Thuan Hoa districts, Vi Xuyen district) were eroded by soil and rock, buried the whole household system of machinery.

-Traffic: many roads are deeply flooded, landslides.

THE RESPONSE WORK

- The Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control issued the official telegram No. 04 / CD-TW dated July 21, 2020 instructing the Commanding Committee to prevent and combat natural disasters in the northern mountainous provinces, and ministries and agencies to propose the implementation of measures to cope with floods and rains.

- Ha Giang province mobilized forces to search for victims of landslide, to visit, encourage victims of families, support and cure the injured;

- Organized the evacuation of 20 people from deeply flooded households of Dinh Tien Hoang ward, Ha Giang city;

- Check the implementation of regulations on coordinated provision of information on flood reception and discharge operation of hydropower plants (Thai An lake, Song Mien, Song Lo, ...).

 

WORKS TO BE CONTINUOUATED

1. Closely monitor the changes of rain and floods, strictly comply with the instructional contents at the Telegram No. 04 / CD-TW dated July 21, 2020.

2. Actively evacuate people in high-risk areas, especially areas at risk of deep flooding, landslides, flash floods.

3. Examining and reviewing flood discharge operating conditions, plans to ensure safety of dams and downstream, especially with small hydropower reservoirs and critical irrigation lakes./.
