Super typhoon Mangkhut

Detailed information

In the evening of September 12,  super typhoon Mangkhut in the Northwest Pacific maintained the strongest wind near the center of the storm at level 17 (200-220 km / h).  MANGKHUT will move toward the North of Bien Dong (East Sea) in about 3 days.

At 22:00 on September 12th, the location of  Mangkhut was at about 14.4 degrees North latitude; 133.2 degrees East longitude. The strongest wind near the center of storms is at level 17 (200-220km / h), wind gusts at above level 17.

At 01:00 on September 13th, the location of  Mangkhut was at about 14.4 degrees North latitude; 132.5 degrees East longitude. The strongest wind near the center of the storms was at level 17 (200-220km / h), wind gusts at above level 17.

At 07:00 on September 13th, the location of  Mangkhut was at about 14.5 degrees North latitude; 131.4 degrees East longitude, about 1100 km Southeast of  Luzon island (Philippines). The strongest wind near the center of the storms was at level 17 (200-220km / h), wind gusts at above level 17.
September 15, super typhoon MANGKHUT landed on the north of Ludon island (Philippines).

At 07:00 on September 15, the location of the super typhoon was about 18.0
degrees North latitude; 120.6 degrees East longitude, on the Northwest of Luzon island. The strongest wind near the center of the storm was at level 16 (185km / h), wind gust above level 17. Out of the area of 400 km away from the center of the storm, wind speed was at level 6, wind gust above level 8. Within 200 km from the center of the storm, wind speed was above level 10. Disaster risk level is level 3-4It is forecasted that in the next 24 hours, the typhoon moves toward to the West Northwest, about 25km/hour and in the morning the typhoon enters the Northeast of Bien Dong Sea. 

September 15/9, Mangkhut was in East Sea and became the 6th Storm.

At 11: 00 on September 15, the location of Mangkhut was at about 18,3 degrees North latitude; 119,9 degrees East longitude, in Northeast East Sea. . The strongest wind near the center of the storms was at level 15 (165-185km/h), wind gusts at above level 17.Out of the area of 380 km away from the center of the storm, wind speed was at level 6, wind gust above level 8. Within 190 km from the center of the storm, wind speed is above level 10.  

At 19: 00 on September 16, the location of Mangkhut was at about 22,0 degrees North latitude; 111,6 degrees East longitude, on the southern mainland of Guangdong Province (China). The strongest wind near the center of the storms was at level 12-13 (115-140km/h), wind gusts of level 15. Out of the area of 280 km away from the center of the storm, wind speed was at level 6, wind gust of above level 8. Within 120 km from the center of the storm, wind speed is above level 10. 
 
At 04:00 on September 17, the location of Mangkhut was at about 22.6 degrees North latitude; 109.3 degrees East longitude, on the southern mainland of Guangdong Province (China). The strongest wind near the center of the storms was at level 9-10 (75-100 km/h), wind gusts of level 12. Out of the area of 200 km away from the center of the storm, wind speed was at level 6, wind gust of above level 8. Within 70 km from the center of the storm, wind speed is above level 10.  

Heavy rain warning: Due to the influence of the southwest circulation of the storm No. 6, from early morning on September 17 to September 19, there is heavy- very heavy rain in the Northeast with the general rainfall of 100-150mm, 150-200mm in Lang Son, Cao Bang. In the North and Northwest, the average rainfall is 50-100mm; 100-150mm in Ha Giang, Lao Cai and Lai Chau. Other areas have moderate rainfall in the North and Thanh Hoa. 

Flood warning: From September 17-19,  upstream of Red -Thai Binh river system will occur a flood with flood amplitude of 2-5m. During this flood, the flood peak in Lo river, Thao river, Ky Cung river and Bang Giang river at warning level 1-2; upstream of Thai Binh River is at warning level 1.

Landslides, flooding warning: High risk of flash floods and landslides in Northern mountainous provinces, especially Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Son La, Lai Chau; Flooding in low lying areas and in urban centers in Quang Ninh, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Bac Giang.
