  • An Giang: The Project “Community Based Disaster Management”

    In order to effectively increase the capability of the disaster prevention system and the awareness of the community about natural disasters, and also to provide a premise for the Government’s Project 1002 and the “National Strategy for the Prevention, Response, and Minimisation of Natural Resources until 2020”, An Giang Province has launched the Project “Community Based Disaster Management” sponsored by the Australian NGO (Care) with a non-return fund of 36.000 USD until June 2012.

Statements of groups and countries are being read, and lots of side events are taking place. He also comments on a recent Canadian government announcement that they will withdraw from the Kyoto protocol: “We had a bit of theatre from the Canadian govt who made an announcement that they would drop from the Kyoto protocol, which would be an extremely bad sign.”

Mishra was presenting the findings of a recent study at the COP 17 United Nations conference on climate change in Durban.
