On May 4, an earthquake of magnitude 5.5 rocked parts of eastern Japan, shutting down the shinkansen high-speed rail service.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the earthquake occurred at 22:07 (local time, 20: 07 Hanoi), with a depth of about 50km and located northeast of Chiba province.
Neighboring provinces, including Tokyo, also felt the vibrations.
However, Japanese authorities did not issue tsunami warnings./.
