
Participating in the contest are students from grades 6 to 9 from 03 schools: Bat Xat Town Secondary School, Bat Xat District Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities and Quang Kim Secondary School, Lao Cai Province. The contest is organized by the Department of Dyke Management and Disaster Prevention in collaboration with Acecook Vietnam Joint Stock Company and a number of related units of Lao Cai Province.
The contest aims to propagate and disseminate knowledge about disaster prevention and control, thereby raising awareness and skills to respond to natural disasters, focusing on children and adolescents in schools about disaster prevention and control. At the same time, the contest also aims to create a useful and healthy playground, enhance solidarity, promote awareness of learning knowledge and skills about disaster prevention and control for students, and attract the attention of authorities and schools to disaster prevention and control.
Speaking at the Final Round of the Golden Bell Contest “With you to prevent and combat natural disasters - Building a sustainable future”, Mr. Nguyen Van Tien - Deputy Director of the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control said: Natural disaster prevention and control requires the attention and close direction of all levels and sectors and the cooperation and contribution of the whole society. The task of raising awareness of natural disaster risks for people, including students - the future owners of the country, is very necessary and must be carried out regularly and continuously to contribute to the goal of "For a safe society against natural disasters".

At the Final Round, Mr. Horikawa Masashi - Chief of Office of the General Director of Acecook Vietnam Joint Stock Company emphasized: The Golden Bell Contest "Preventing natural disasters with you - Creating a sustainable future" is an extremely useful and meaningful program, helping students gain more knowledge in preventing and fighting natural disasters; thereby improving the effectiveness in protecting the lives of their families and relatives as well as minimizing risks and damages when natural disasters occur.

Passing the preliminary round, 100 contestants who are students of Bat Xat Town Secondary School, Bat Xat District Secondary and High School for Ethnic Minorities and Quang Kim Secondary School enthusiastically competed, overcoming many questions related to the field of natural disaster prevention and control, including knowledge about types of natural disasters in the locality.
In the end, Nguyen Khanh An, class 8E, Bat Xat Town Secondary School won first prize. Phan Thu Ngoc, class 7D, Bat Xat Town Secondary School, won second prize. Tran Nguyen Yen Nhi, class 7B, Bat Xat Town Secondary School won third prize.

Through the contest, secondary school students were disseminated knowledge about natural disaster prevention and control, climate change, thereby raising awareness, consciousness and skills to respond to natural disasters for students at school, family and society.
The "Ring the Golden Bell" contest contributes to the effective implementation of the Project "Raising community awareness and Community-based Disaster Risk Management, by 2030", which includes the task of integrating natural disaster prevention content into training and teaching programs at all levels, at the same time being a useful playground for students and spreading knowledge about natural disaster prevention and control in the community.
