Ta Mon dam (Tan Lap commune, Ham Thuan Nam) has been dry for many days.
Nearly 6 months, Binh Thuan province has almost no rain, prolonged heat has caused nearly 15,000 hectares of agricultural land to be forced to cut, over 25,000 households with nearly 93,000 people lack water for domestic use. Important irrigation reservoirs such as: Mong River, Ta Mon, Da Bac, etc. are gradually inert, with only a little water below the dead water level.
Dong De dam receives water from Mong river lake to irrigate dragon fruits in the downstream area of Ham Thuan Nam district, which is shallow.
Facing the above situation, the People's Committee of Binh Thuan Province had to declare an emergency situation due to the second-level drought, and at the same time, requested the units and localities to continue implementing urgent solutions to prevent and combat drought and lack of water, saline intrusion. In particular, promptly deploy projects and constructions to supply enough daily-life water to people suffering from water shortage; closely monitoring the situation of water regulation from reservoirs to supplement water sources to prevent and combat drought in the lower areas in service of agricultural production and daily life.
