On the morning of April 27, an earthquake of 5.6 magnitude shook the town of Te Anau, south of Queenstown City on the South Island of New Zealand.
According to GeoNet, the earthquake occurred 40 km north of Te Anau and had a epicenter at a depth of 67 km. Nearly 3,000 people reported feeling the tremor of the quake.
