Quang Nam agreed to build a temporary dam on the Quang Hue River to reduce salinity for Da Nang

9:15:23, 23/03/2021 The People's Committee of Quang Nam province unanimously agreed the policy at the request of the People's Committee of Da Nang city to build temporary dams on Quang Hue river.


 Raw water source of Cau Do water plant, Da Nang, is being salt.

Through inspection, assessment shows that the embankment of this temporary dam has increased water flow to the downstream of Vu Gia river, contributing to increasing the amount of water supplied for water exploitation works, irrigation pumping stations of Dai Loc district, town. Dien Ban, Quang Nam province and salinity reduction at Cau Do water plant inlet, Da Nang city.

From February 2021, the water source at Cau Do water plant inlet, Da Nang city is salty, and the salinity tends to increase gradually. The People's Committee of Da Nang city requested the People's Committee of Quang Nam province to agree on the policy of continuing to re-build the temporary dam on the Quang Hue river.

Mr. Ho Quang Buu, Vice Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee, said that the province assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to coordinate with ideas on solutions to design and construction of temporary works on Quang Hue River, ensuring the goal. improving water resources to the downstream of Vu Gia river, at the same time controlling saline intrusion downstream Thu Bon river and draining water in flood season.
