Turkey continues to experience strong earthquakes

10:39:1, 15/02/2023 Turkey reported that, in less than 12 hours, the country was hit by another strong earthquake. Meanwhile, according to Syrian state media, Damascus was also affected by the recent earthquake, however, there are not many details about this earthquake yet.


Rescuers urgently search for survivors buried in the rubble after the earthquake on February 6, 2023.

According to the European Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), preliminary data shows that the magnitude 7.7 earthquake on the Richter scale struck 67km northeast of the city of Kahramanmaras, Turkey, in 2km depth. Meanwhile, the Turkish Emergency and Disaster Management Agency said the quake had a magnitude of 7.6 and occurred at a greater depth.
As of 6 p.m. on February 6 (Vietnam time), the number of victims after the magnitude 7.8 earthquake occurred early this morning has reached 1,472 deaths (560 people in Syria and 912 people in Turkey). United States) and nearly 6,100 wounded (1,089 in Syria and more than 5,000 in Turkey).
Rescue teams in both countries are struggling in the rain and snow to find survivors in the rubble. The priority now is to rescue those trapped in the rubble.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that this is the worst disaster to have occurred in the country since 1939. To date, more than 45 countries have offered to assist Turkey in responding to the earthquake disaster. .
