Two landslides appeared in Vinh Truong dune

9:33:12, 26/07/2022 On the morning of July 18, the Chief of the Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Climate Change Response – Disaster Prevention and Control and Civil Defense of An Giang Province, Luong Huy Khanh, said that the unit is coordinating with An Phu district to continue reviewing Monitor and update the erosion on the west bank of Hau river, part of Vinh Truong commune (An Phu district).

The locality has posted a warning sign for dangerous landslides

Previously, on July 15, 2022, in Vinh Binh hamlet (Vinh Truong commune, An Phu district) two landslides occurred near each other on the west bank of Hau river (about 300m from the head of the dune towards the People's Committee of Vinh Truong commune). , with a length of about 50m, a width of about 2m.

The landslide did not cause damage to people or houses, but the landslide location affected people's living roads (dirt roads), causing difficulties in travel. The cause of landslides is that the riverbank has a steep slope and the foot is sandy soil. It is forecasted that in the coming time, heavy rain combined with floods and landslides is likely to increase.

Immediately after detecting the landslide, the Steering Committee for Climate Change Response - Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Civil Defense in An Phu district and Vinh Truong commune mobilized people to cut large trees near the landslide site. mobilized to move people's roads inward to ensure safety, and at the same time as a barrier to warn people of the danger of landslides in the area.
