On 9/9 (local time), large-scale wildfires destroyed hundreds of homes in the western state of Oregon.
Oregon Governor Kate Brown announced the trigger of a statewide forest fire emergency, allowing for more resource mobilization as well as requesting federal assistance.
Speaking to the media, Governor Brown estimated that more than 12,405 hectares of forests in Oregon were engulfed in flames with 35 major wildfires.
