    Within the framework of the project "Strengthening resilience to climate change impacts of vulnerable coastal communities in Vietnam" funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) through UNDP, Disaster Prevention Policy and Technology Center organized a training course on Community-based Disaster Risk Management and Assessment (Disaster Risk) and Climate Change (Climate Change Risk) in Quang Loc commune, Ba Don town, Quang Binh province from August 19-24, 2019.

  • Training on community-based natural disasters and climate change risks asessment in Thanh Hoa

    Within the framework of the project "Strengthening resilience to climate change impacts of vulnerable coastal communities in Vietnam" funded by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) through UNDP, Disaster Prevention Policy and Technology Center has organized two training courses on disaster risk management and assessment (Disaster Risk) and climate change risk (Climate Change Risk) based on community in Hai Chau and Hai Linh communes, Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa province, from May 13-18, 2019.

  • Community-based disaster risk assessment training in Nam Dinh

    In the framework of the project "Strengthening resilience to climate change impacts of vulnerable coastal communities in Vietnam" funded by the Green Climate Fund through UNDP, Disaster Prevention Policy and Technology Center have organized 02 training courses on community-based disaster risk management in Nghia Hai and Nam Dien communes of Nghia Hung district, Nam Dinh province from March 19-24.

  • Conference about National Disaster Prevention and Control Center

    On the afternoon of February 25, Vietnam Disaster Management Authority organized a conference to discuss about the National Disaster Prevention and Control Center. The workshop was chaired by the Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, General Director of Vietnam Disaster Management Authority Mr. Tran Quang Hoai. Attending the workshop were some functional units under the General Department of Disaster Prevention; Representative of the General Department of Meteorology and Hydrology; General Headquarter of Fisheries; General Department of Irrigation; World Bank and Workshop experts.

  • Collecting satellite images, building flooding map of Hanoi

    Disaster Management Policy and Technology Center in collaboration with Space Technology Institute (STI), Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), and Servir Mekong collected remote sensing data, established a flooding map of Hanoi area.

  • Introduction to psychological assistance with natural disasters management in Vietnam through Tension, Stress & Trauma releasing exercises (TRE®)

    In recent years, disasters have become more complex and severe in Vietnam. Being aware of disaster consequences, a series of disaster prevention, response and recovery activities have been actively implemented from the national to local levels. However, among these activities, the psychological assistance to stabilize people's lives in disaster prone areas (prescribed in Clause 1, Article 30 of the Law on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control) is still being studied for application.

  • Training for trainers on Disability inclusive disaster risk management

    From 30th May to 3rd June, Quảng Trị Disabled People’s Organization organized the training for trainers (ToT) on disability inclusive disaster risk management (DiCBDRM) to 15 participants in Dong Ha city, Quang Tri province.
