The Conference saw the presence of agents from Directorate of Water Resources, Regional Centre for Hydro - Meteorological Forecasting; executive representatives, agents from Disaster Prevention Department, Directorate of Water Resources of provinces/cities and Hydroelectricity share companies; companies which utilise the water reservoirs from 9 seaside provinces, including Quảng Bình, Quảng Trị, Thừa Thiên Huế, Đà Nẵng, Quảng Nam, Quảng Ngãi, Bình Định, Phú Yên, and Khánh Hòa.
At the beginning of the Conference the Director of Disaster Management Centre – Dr. Nguyễn Hữu Phúc introduced the purpose of the Supervision System and on-going activities. Technical project specialist JICA presented a similar supervision system in use in Japan and the technical supports needed for the automatic system of meteor-hydrological gauging that is currently in experimental use in Thừa Thiên Huế.
Technical specialists from Disaster Management Centre, in cooperation with Viettel Corporation, also introduced automatic meteor-hydrological gauging and guided the representatives to update information according to default templates available on the reservoirs management website: information on water levels, upstream and lower section flow and the rainfall levels of big reservoirs can be updated via text messages.
The representatives had a discussion and contributed constructive comments to improve the software after direct operation on the system.
