Participation come from National Center for Water Resources Planning and Investigation (NAWAPI), Institute of Water Resources Planning (IWRP), Disaster Management Center (DMC), Institute of Environment and Technology – VAST, USAID, Hanoi University of Science and Technology (HUST), Hanoi Architectural University (HAU).
The objectives of the workshop are to share the outcomes of the case studies for two transboundary basins in Vietnam: Da and Srepok river basins, and to discuss with you as end-users on your needs of information so that we can improve the infrastructure and make it more beneficial.
As, part of the collaboration between Vietnam and the Netherlands, the consortium including Dutch partners (HKV, Future Water, TUDelft) and Vietnamese counterparts (DRS, NAWAPI, etc.) is developing infrastructure to support decision making. With this infrastructure, information services based on remote sensing, ground observations, and modelling can be delivered to users in a timely, clear and visually attractive way and thus can support water management decision making processes as well operations of various water users such as dam operators, water suppliers, etc. The data input for the system is satellite-measured precipitation, observation station, a hydrological model and a reseervoir model will automatic analysis and produce the forecast information. The final product will share on the website at address: http://113.190.42.11:2680/fewsda. At this time, the system had been complete intergrade Da river basin and continute to input Srepok riverbasin.
In discussion secssion, all participant had good asses to the system. Some comments forcus on the way to intergrated to the reservoir management system, or automatic collect and analysis information form dam at the upstream where difficult or hard to get data, operatin information. The comments for the next case study would propose for Bang Giang – Ky Cung river basin.
The workshop finished in day.
