Within the framework of the program "Strengthening human rights and gender equality through climate change and disaster risk reduction activities" (EmPower) organized by the United Nations agency on Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment. Sponsored by UNWOMEN, the Project Management Board of Technical Assistance for Disaster Risk Reduction organized the workshop "Technical consultation on the database of disaggregated gender and social factors and gender indicators" November 2, 2021.
The seminar was attended by representatives of management agencies and international organizations such as the General Department of Natural Disaster Prevention and Control; General Statistics Office - Ministry of Planning and Investment; United Nations Agency for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UNWOMEN); Standing Office of the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control in Lao Cai, Quang Tri, Da Nang, Gia Lai, Hai Phong, Ca Mau provinces; Vietnam Women's Union; Vietnam Red Cross Association; Central Vietnam Association of Elderly and some other non-governmental organizations.

Mr. Le Quang Tuan - Deputy Director of the Project Management Board, Deputy Director of the Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation - General Department of Natural Disaster Prevention and Control of Vietnam gave the opening speech of the workshop and shared the objectives of the workshop. The objective of the workshop was to introduce a database of people's livelihoods for disaster prevention, integrating data disaggregated by sex, age and people with disabilities, and discuss and share experiences in collecting and synthesizing data. Gender disaggregation data and local social factors implemented in 2020 and plans to implement activities in 2021.

A lots of questions was asked , discussed in groups to share and absorb the delegates' comments on the need, inappropriate points, difficulties, solutions and details of information and data. suit local needs.

The groups have shared and made many useful contributions to the list of data disaggreating gender and social factors, and made additional comments and adjustments to the economic population database for prevention and control. Disasters are easier to collect and respond better to disaster prevention.
Mr. Le Quang Tuan - Deputy Director of the Project Management Board highly appreciated the sharing and suggestions of the participants in the workshop. These comments will be aggregated and reported to the General Department of Disaster Prevention and Control so that the database can be completed and maximized its role in supporting disaster prevention and control.
