Lao Cai issues urgent support rates for residents forced to evacuate disaster-stricken areas.

8:43:14, 07/08/2026 To provide timely support to residents requiring emergency evacuation and relocation from disaster-stricken areas, on August 5, the People's Committee of Lao Cai Province issued Decision No. 2717/QĐ-UBND, stipulating the levels of emergency assistance for local residents.

Leaders of the Coc San Commune People's Committee inspect disaster recovery efforts.

Under the decision, households and individuals required to urgently evacuate disaster-stricken areas—as designated by competent authorities—will receive support of VND 250,000 per person per day. This support covers the duration of the mandatory evacuation or urgent relocation, with funding provided by the provincial budget.

In cases where an individual is eligible for multiple state-funded support policies covering the same purpose, they shall receive only the policy offering the highest level of support.

The Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Department of Finance and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to provide guidance on and oversee the implementation of this policy within their respective mandates. People's Committees of communes and wards located in disaster-affected areas are responsible for implementing the policy in a timely, public, and transparent manner, ensuring that support reaches the correct recipients and adheres to established regulations; they must also compile funding requirements and lists of individuals subject to urgent relocation for submission to competent authorities for approval.
