Specifically, prolonged heavy rain caused soil and rocks on the positive slope to slide down, collapsing 4 official accommodation rooms of the Nam Ban Commune Health Station (Meo Vac district), damaging many items inside. The estimated damage was up to 90%, equivalent to about 850 million VND.
Immediately after the landslide, the Nam Ban Commune People's Committee immediately sent forces to support the evacuation of people and property from the landslide area; leaders of the Meo Vac District People's Committee and relevant agencies went to the scene to direct the work of overcoming the consequences. In Vi Xuyen district, on the morning of July 4, due to prolonged heavy rains in recent days in border communes such as Thanh Thuy, Thanh Duc, Phuong Tien..., landslides occurred at some positive slope points on the main inter-commune road and some inter-village roads. In Phuong Tien commune alone, the road to 4 highland villages including Xa Phin, Mao Phin, Nam Te, Na Mau is still isolated and cut off, traffic cannot travel due to the large amount of landslides (up to 28 landslide points with 25 positive slope landslide points, 3 negative slope landslide points), there are still signs of imminent landslides so it cannot be overcome and handled yet.
