The training workshop “Strengthening capacity for officers engaged in natural disasters prevention and control in the Northen region” was held this morning, 27 Mayby The Central Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control in collaboration with the project management boards to Strengthening institutional capacity for disaster risk management in Viet Nam, including climate change related risks , period 2012 – 2016 (SCDM II). The workshop took place in Do Son (Hai phong), funded by UNDP and Australian Aid

Overview of the workshop

According to the workshop agenda, during 02 days participants will be communicated and disseminated the basic content of the Law on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control; reported preliminary results after 02 years implementing the Law on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control on a national scale and in the Northen region. Also based on the agenda framework, officers and experts from Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and Project SCDM II will disseminate the draft circular guiding Decree No. 94/2014/ND-CP dated on October 17^th2014 of the Government on the establishment and management of Disaster Prevention Fund; introduce the M&E indicators and guide to implement the scheme Community awareness raising and community-based disaster risk management; introduce the climate change scenarios currently in Vietnam.

Mr.Tran Quang Hoai and Mr. Nguyen Van Tung chaired the workshop
