Attending the workshop, there were the representatives of Derectorate of Water Resources and attached units and agencies; Denmark Embassy in Hanoi; the Leaders of units and agencies of MARD, included Departments, Vietnam Institute of Water Resources, Irrigation University, a Member of Irrigation Exploitation Dau Tieng Ltd. Company, representatives of Ministry of Natural Resources & Environment, Vietnam Electricity Corporation and some localities in downstream areas on Dong Nai-Sai Gon river basin. The workshop was chaired by Mr. Tran Quang Hoai – the Deputy General Director of Directorate of Water Resource.

General introduction of the project, Ms. Le Thi Kim Cuc – the Head of Science, Technology and International Cooperation Department (Derectorate of Water Resources) - Deputy project director said: objectives of the project contribute to improve flood management and thereby reduce the risk of  downstream flooding on Dong Nai-Sai Gon river basin by floods, tides and rain; strengthen the efficiency of the use and allocation of water resources by improving the operation of the existing irrigation infrastructure systems in the basin. After listening to  the reports of the units, Mr. Tran Quang Hoai suggested the Consultant should accept all the comments from participants and the other comments of the Ministries, agencies and experts to continue to improve the products so that the implementation, application into practice is the most effective.
