    Disaster Management Policy and Technology Center in collaboration with Space Technology Institute (STI), Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), and Servir Mekong collected remote sensing data, established a flooding map of Hanoi area.

  • Workshop on flycam controlling for Viet Nam disaster management authority’ officers

    Disaster management policy and technology center organized a workshop on flycam controlling on 4th of July 2018 which aimed to strengthen the capacity of flycam controlling for Viet Nam disaster management authority’ officers.

  • Introduction to psychological assistance with natural disasters management in Vietnam through Tension, Stress & Trauma releasing exercises (TRE®)

    In recent years, disasters have become more complex and severe in Vietnam. Being aware of disaster consequences, a series of disaster prevention, response and recovery activities have been actively implemented from the national to local levels. However, among these activities, the psychological assistance to stabilize people's lives in disaster prone areas (prescribed in Clause 1, Article 30 of the Law on Natural Disaster Prevention and Control) is still being studied for application.

  • Training for trainers on Disability inclusive disaster risk management

    From 30th May to 3rd June, Quảng Trị Disabled People’s Organization organized the training for trainers (ToT) on disability inclusive disaster risk management (DiCBDRM) to 15 participants in Dong Ha city, Quang Tri province.

  • Training course on Disability inclusive community-based disaster risk management from 30/5/2016-03/6/2016

    Within the framework of Project for Widening the participation of people with disability in community-based disaster risk management in Vietnam. Malteser International Organization coordinate with Disaster Management Center and Quang Tri Disabled People’s Organization jointly organized the training course on “Disability inclusive community-based disaster risk management” (DiCBDRM) in Quang Tri province.

  • Technical Workshop “Strengthening capacity to utilize earth observation and geospatial information for disaster management and emergency response”

    Within the framework of cooperation on applying space technology for disaster prevention, Water Resources Directorate (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) and United Nation Platform for Space-based Information for Disaster Management and Emergency Response (UN-SPIDER) jointly organized technical workshop on spatial data infrastructure and process of building disaster map for emergency response.

  • 4th ASEAN workshop on "Exercise and drill on the procedural guidelines for sharing space-based information during emergency response" in Bogor, Indonesia from 19-21 April 2016

    The workshop is co-organized by UN-SPIDER, the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on disaster management (AHA Centre), LAPAN, ESCAP, and UNOSAT. The workshop had been built on the outcomes of the chain ASEAN workshops on "Development of mechanisms for acquisition and utilization of space-based information during emergency response".

  • Manual on disability inclusive community-based disaster risk management in DAISY format ready

    Members of the Lift You Up group have successfully completed a three-day follow-up training course on Digital Accessible Information System (DAISY) with Malteser International. The course took place from 28th to 30th March 2016 in Ha Noi, and focused on advanced technical skills, following a basic training course in January.
